Nokia E63

nokia-e63Sometimes big companies, like Nokia in this case, come up with great phones, and then they come up with cheap phones that are simply trimmed-down versions of their award-winning phones. Such is the case of the E63, the E71’s younger brother.

But it’s not that they just cut down on costs and made it cheaper, they simply changed their approach when it came to the E63. The E71 is a modern, high tech phone with great battery life, very functional, sleek design and an intuitive QWERTY keyboard. The E63 is all of this too, but it’s designed to focus on a younger target group, which is what explains most of the differences – even in the price tag.

The E71, with its stainless steel shell, targets a more mature audience of young adults. That is why, asides from “fun” applications like music player and camera, it included more adult functions, like GPS. The E63 has these applications shaven off and, since it’s focused on a much younger audience, has also had design changes, coming in hard plastic with a variety of colors to choose from, which will appeal to teenagers – although a sober black is also included.

This is why, being focused on the teens, the E63 is an adult favorite too. The loss of functions like GPS is more than made up for in the price tag, so if you’re trying to decide between the two, it’s going to be a close call – and your wallet may end up speaking louder.
