We never expect something bad to happen to us. It’s the old norm of, in the back of our minds, we believing that accidents only happen to others. No matter how many stories we hear about someone that always played it safe, but nonetheless had something terrible happen, we still can’t fathom that it will ever happen to us.
Well, it’s time we start to do so. And when it comes to computers, there’s no security that can ever match good preemptive measures. And the best way to prevent something bad happening to your computer is to make regular backups.
Now, never mind the hard work it used to be to manually back all your important files and forget about when you had to insert disk after disk while backing up data. Nowadays there is very advanced backup software that does all the work for you, and you won’t even notice it’s there. Imagine, you can tell a piece of software to make a backup of as many folders as you want it to every time you switch or computer off, or at a given time interval. This means there are no more excuses, it will be done for you. Unless you’re too lazy to install a piece of software, that is.

There’s no question that the Internet is an amazing tool that is, in itself, the pinnacle of human communication and connection. Never before in the history of the World has communication between all corners of the Earth has been so easy, smooth and with, let’s say it, increasing quality. The internet is continuously revolutionizing the way we get our news, the way we communicate, the way we look at and research information and, ultimately, the way we live our daily lives.
But there are some issues with internet security that have been addressed, but not yet solved. Operating systems, like Windows, are susceptible to viruses and malware that can seriously hamper your computer’s performance. And there are other types of invasive software that can threaten your privacy.
Luckily, the internet also works against the people that build and code these threats on your computer. It is now incredibly fast to detect new threats and report them to the people working to protect us against them. Your active internet connection also gets you increasingly closer to being protected. Every morning when you turn your computer on your antivirus suite connects to the company’s server and gets the latest protection against all new threats.
